Yet More Exotic Groceries...
My dad recently bought this mysterious block of "Pu-Erh" tea for my brother and I to share.
It's an interesting style of tea, due to the lengthy fermenting/aging process. When brewed, the resulting beverage is a deep red color, and has a somewhat earthy but smooth taste. People also claim that it is great for digestion, lowering cholesterol and controlling obesity. I don't know about that last claim, but it is still interesting.
Dad also mentioned a more Tibetan or Mongolian style of serving Pu-Erh, which is to add goat's milk and salt. Um, I think I'll pass on that for now.
In any case, I'm glad I got a chance to try this out. Thanks Dad!
