My blog is one year old today!

I never really meant to start this blog. I had been reading my amazing friend napkinshoe 's blog for a while, and at a point where people had to sign in to read her blog, I grudgingly created an account. I didn't expect to do anything with this...I'd created a LiveJournal account previously and never bothered to make an entry, so I figured it would be a similar experience.

I first started blogging as a sort of running "to do" list...things to check out, reminders to myself, notes to self. Just a way to organize some thoughts that were overflowing from my brain and that I wanted to save for later. It's still how I view my blog. Making a few friends along the way was a bonus, and I'm happy to have met so many interesting personalities here. You are the icing on the cake!

Anyway, thanks Amy, for providing the incentive to start this. And happy birthday, little blog.
