Karl Lagerfeld is one of my favorite creepy Germans...you gotta dig the hand fans (I miss the fan! I wish he still carried one), the dark shades, his addiction to ballroom dancing. I thought it was cool that he produced a more "affordable" line of Lagerfeld designed clothing for Swedish chain H&M. But I had to raise an eyebrow when I read this article from British Vogue. Lagerfeld said that H&M had not produced enough garments to meet the demand, that it was "embarrassing" that H&M had "let down" so many people, and that he didn't think it was very "kind." But then the article said he was also offended that H&M made his collection in bigger sizes than he had intended, as he had meant these clothes to be fashion for "slender and slim people." I find THAT a bit unkind, especially since Karl himself used to be rather chunky until recently. Oh well...people are odd, especially Karl Lagerfeld. |
